Sandy papakolea beach (also known as the Green Sand Beach or Mahan) is located near the South Point near Kai on the island of the Hawaiian archipelago. This is one of two unique green beach in the world (the second is in the Galapagos Islands). Papakolea got its distinctive color thanks to the mineral olivine, which are rich in the local breed. The beach is located in the bay, surrounded by half Puyu Mahan (volcanic cone) and is linked to the reef southwest of Mauna Loa. After the last eruption of the volcano cone partially collapsed by itself, and then was the substitution of the ocean.
